Quantic!
Absolutely loved the Quantic set on Saturday afternoon! They were ON FIRE and it was great to meet a couple of the band members afterwards, queuing up for some food!
It was such a shame that Will Holland couldn't DJ at the after show party at the Hare and Hounds...I noticed a sign on the door saying something along the lines of ticket holders being entitled to see Quantic again later in the year for free...?! Does anyone have any more info on that? Would be great to see him DJ....
By Simon Robinson from Worcestershire
Mostly Jazz Team Response
It was a shame, he had to fly out at 7am from Luton on the Sunday and the timings didn't work. After his tour Leftfoot and Mostly Jazz will organise another date for him to DJ at the pub. We've got everyone's emails who booked before the festival but those that bought on the day please keep your blue wristbands (not on your wrists obviously).
Still, Craig Charles and Sam Redmore did a great job Djing that night. Thanks to both of them.

Good times indeed...
Had a great time at the festival, defo looking to come again next year if it's on again (it would be a crime if it wasn't!) and if you could get the Menehan Street Band from NYC on the line-up, that would bea real feat!
Cheers Matty and Katy.
Ps - Hi to Brian and Sky from Brizzle.

mostly jazz..
We absolutely loved the festival. Great music in lovely relaxing surroundings. The sound was fine all weekend, performances very enjoyable and everyone seemed friendly. It always helps if the sun shines too!
We hope the whole thing was a success from an organisational/financial perspective so that there'll be another one next year.
Thanks!

huge success
Well done!
We came over for the weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the festival.
Intimate, friendly, fab lineup, good facilities, excellent value for money and great to see Portico Quartet developing so well - my festival highlight.
Maybe more staff in the beer tent next time ?
Thanks so much to your organising team

Saturday's Festival
My complements on yesterday's festival. The organisation was impressive and I don't think I've been to a festival before where I have enjoyed every single act.
It was brilliant & I'll definitely be coming next year.

Running Order?
Hi Mostly!
Any info on the running order and timings yet? Coming up from the Deep South and don't want to miss out on any of the topliners.
Thanks! Looking forward to a great weekend.
By Steve Archer from Croydon
Mostly Jazz Team Response
Running Order is as listed on the Lineup page. Music Starts around midday and Headliners are on just before 9pm. Full timings will be in the bar and by each stage. If there's anyone specific let me know, if I have time IU'll get back to you.

music from the artists
Will there be some kind of merch tent or something if we like the music we hear, so we can purchase a cd or whatever?
By JIMMY from Manchester
Mostly Jazz Team Response
There is a festival shop where artists will sell their CD's, TShirts etc.
01/07/2010
Stuff and times...
Hello, I'm looking forward to a great weekend of innovative jazz/funk/soul n more. Will there be stuff like promotional T shirts, programmes, etc? Also can we have more specific times for individual performances please? Good luc kwith it all and see u all there.
By JIMMY from Manchester
Mostly Jazz Team Response
There will be tshirts and a very nicely printed programme which comes with a 12 track sampler cd of some of the bands at the festival. Performance times will be on display in the bar and by each stage.
01/07/2010
Seating
Probably a really daft question but will it be ok to bring fold up camping chairs? Looking at the photos of the folk festival it looks like most people did for that one...
By Kev from Shrewsbury
Mostly Jazz Team Response
You're welcome to bring folding chairs. We only to ask you to sit a certain distance back from the stage (there will be signs).

Polar Bear
...mmm I really want to see Polar Bear AND the footy (if England are playing)...will Polar bear be playing two sets? I see that they are listed on the main stage and the Swing Meadow stage
By Timbo from Manchester
Mostly Jazz Team Response
Polar Bear are playing the main stage. Polarbear the spoken word artist is performing on the Swing Meadow stage.
24/06/2010
footie
I know this is probably a football free zone - and rightly so...(!) but
should england make it past germany, they may well meet argentina in the quarters which will be played at 3pm on the saturday. will there be any provision to watch the game??? or an idea of who will be on at this time? I dont want to miss any of the great bands playing....
By james from birmingham
Mostly Jazz Team Response
Hi James, yes we have anticipated this. We'll be showing the match at the Swing Meadow Stage on a large screen. Polar Bear are on at 3pm and JTQ at 4.40pm.

Parking
Shame there is nowhere to park... I'm willing to try a bus (though I haven't been on one since about 1985) but I still have to travel from Telford and park up... somewhere?
Is there suitable park and ride or anything? Parking all day in the centre would be crazy prices.
When will the event finish? Don't want to miss the last bus back to wherever the car is.
If only Birmingham had a tube ^_^
By Steve from Telford
Mostly Jazz Team Response
Indeed, if only Moseley had a train service. The 50 bus is very regular though, some say the most regular bus in europe, some might dispute this.
There is a pay & display car park at Moseley crossroads, if you arrive early you might get a space. If not there are plenty of spaces on residential roads within a half mile of the festival. The postcode of Moseley Park is B13 8DD if you'd like to check out a map of the area.
Music finishes by 10.30pm, the buses run till at least 11.30pm.
Taxis to the city centre should be no more than £5.

Sun Ra Arkestra
We saw the Arkestra at the Cafe Oto recently and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to (and I've been to hundreds). A must see.

Cider
What ciders will be available.
Any chance of Westons varied selection being on sale?
Jazz, Sunshine and Cider.
Cannot think of a better combination. Good luck for the event and see you there!
By David from Kings Heath
Mostly Jazz Team Response
The bar will be stocking Hogan's cider from just down the road in Alcester.

promoting the festival
I think you should put a link to the facebook page on this website. You could also use it to promote the event - there are very few attendees the on facebook event and it could be used to get the word out more widely

Timings/Catering
SOUNDS GREAT !
1)Please give us a clue on the
timings
2)Can you bring your own
picnic / boose and is there
any real ale on site ?
By Jim Sparrow from Old Moseley Arms
Mostly Jazz Team Response
Exact timings haven't been decided yet but I can say that headliners go on around 9pm each day. Music starts at midday.
Purity Brewing Co. are sponsoring the event so there will certainly be some fine ales available aswell as wine and cocktails.
You're welcome to bring your own food and soft drinks but please no alcohol or glassware. There will be a great selection of festival caterers to choose from - British Sausage Co, Halls Dorset Smokery, One Stop Thali, Mexican Food Co and Vegetaria.
If you have any specific queries please email us

Featival Times
Your publicity does not inform starting and finishing times each day or running times of acts. Could you inform. Great to have a proper jazz festival in Birmingham which will I am sure will bring credit to our city.
